Letter From the Secretary-General

Dear Sponsors, Delegates, and Friends of Infinity MUN 2020,

On behalf of Infinity MUN Society 2020, it is my honour to invite you to our first-ever

Model UN Conference. This year Infinity MUN will be held on the 5 th and 6 th with the date subject to change.

Model UN can let students speak up for what they believe in and become involved in the

world. It cultivates students to grow into future leaders who are knowledgeable, confident,

driven, and passionate to make positive changes in the lives of others. It is not an

understatement to say that MUN has shaped me into the person I am today, and I hope it

moulds other delegates to be determined, strong, and confident as well.

Infinity MUN is founded on making the next diplomats, introducing delegates to major world problems, and inspiring a generation of young minds to be the change they want to see in the

world. As we are amid a pandemic, this year will be different in terms of how the conference

is executed: virtually.

The theme of Infinity MUN is to rise above the storm- the belief that you can overcome

obstacles if you rise to the challenge by taking action and standing up for what you believe in.

In the past several months, we have faced raging wildfires, a pandemic which has changed

our way of life, multiple acts of racial injustice, and much more. We hope that delegates will

have the courage to rise above the storm whether it’s overcoming an obstacle in committee or

the real world. With this hope, delegates will rise above to build a better world for tomorrow.

Please feel free to contact me or any other secretariat member with any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Secretary-General of Infinity MUN 2020

Vansh Aggarwal

Letter From the Deputy Secretary-General

Distinguished Delegates, Observers, and Esteemed Guests,

On behalf of the Secretariat, I am truly honoured to welcome you to Infinity MUN 2020.

We, the youth, are living in an ever-changing world with cutting-edge technological developments and the relentless expansion of human knowledge. Even as I am writing this letter to you, there are scientists, activists, and peace-keepers who are at the frontiers working incessantly to build us an inclusive and resilient future. Thanks to their contribution, more doors are opened to us than ever, more voices are heard than ever. As much as we are grateful for the blossoming opportunities we enjoy, we must acknowledge that the voice we are granted and the chances we are given are not universal. The atrocities of war, the calamitous consequences of climate change, and the weight of prejudice are closing the doors and taking away the voice of our friends across the world. It aches me deeply to think that while I enjoy the privileges of quality education, a loving family, and a peaceful country, people of the same age as mine are out there struggling for their life day-by-day not knowing what future holds in store for them. We, young people, must refuse to accept the status quo and raise our voice in the long-standing battle for a truly equal, peaceful and prospering future for us and the next generation. This, I believe, is why Model United Nations was initiated in the first place.

As my last remarks, I would encourage those who are still hesitant to embark on this journey with us and let your passion echo through the voice you raise, the resolution you craft, and the friendship you make. Together, let’s “change the world, one resolution at a time.”

Best regards,

Aarav Jain

Deputy Secretary-General
